Canon Explorer of Light photographer Joel Grimes is known as a master of portrait lighting. His influential series of lighting materials and instructional videos have illuminated the intricacies and nuances of lighting for a generation of photographers.

Without question, one of the most essential elements in creating a visually compelling image is how light strikes a subject. It is incredibly empowering and satisfying to develop the necessary skills to create any desired lighting scenario.  And – be able to do this intuitively without flash meters, lighting ratios, and schematics!

Joel’s artistic approach can be described as that of an illusionist. He aims to capture the unique essence of each individual through his creative photographic process. He believes that there is no face on the planet that is the same, and his goal is to reflect and showcase this individual uniqueness in his portraits.

In Master The Light, Joel Grimes will give you the tools to creatively light portraits and fulfill your vision as an Artist. Take the mystery out of lighting and join Joel for this career-changing three-day, in-person workshop.
